**Vortech Owners** Are they worth it?

I just happen to have a comparative image of a MP10 and K5 Magnum.



Huge difference. I've run both and the Koralia doesn't get near the diffused soft flow of the Vortech.

 

And I guess they have spoken. I was leaning towards the Vortechs anyway, just wanted thoughts on it. I wouldn't use an external wavemaker on the K's, just a RKL PC-4 for 4 of the 8 powerheads.

 

LOL, I mis-read your title at first. I haven't used wavemakers so I don't know about how well they work. But I have priced out wavemaking systems and the Vortech comes out quite favorably. I have a bunch of Koralias in my tank and can create a very nice random flow. If you are looking at cost effective circulation then I say go with the Koralias. 4 1400's for the corners and 2 750's in the middle is 40+ times flow which will be more than sufficient with the return pump you have.

 

Is that the mp40. Ecotech should use that pic in their ad. It just sold me on them.

Still blows the K5 away with size. I was not really worried about space taken up, more about getting it NOW! You know how that is. ;D

 

whats the quietest one in your opinion?
