Does anyone on here use Ustream to do a live stream of their tank? Or any other service to do a live stream? I was just playing around with my webcam earlier since I have a computer close to the tank. Thought about setting up a stream even though my tank is kinda boring at the moment.

I did a search on ustream and there was one 150 gallon reef that was live right now. Only live one I saw, but lots and lots of video on there.

I think there was someone on here a while back that set it up....I'm don't think I've seen the poster recently.

I'm surprised more people don't do it. I've got mine up right now testing it.

Love it. Nice tank. How did you set up the live camera? What I mean is - do you need a spare computer to do that or can you hook one up directly to a hub?

Well my computer just happens to be close to the tank, so I'm just using a Logitech HD webcam via usb straight to the computer. But I assume by hub you mean a router or ethernet switch?

    Router - yes.

COmputer near by is very helpful. I'd love to do this sometime.
Whatever I come up with I will have to childproof though. :hehe:

Haha, yeah I have 2 little nephews that terrorize my tank when they visit.

Well I assume you could set it up with an IP camera that could plug into a router or even be wireless. I think its pretty neat. Would love to just be able to check on peoples tanks randomly lol.

IP camera! Of course how could I forget that. I had to set up a couple 2k JVC ones at work. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

    Anymore tanks out there?
