    wow

    2 questions

1 - what has this upgrade cost roughly?
2- will the extra heat generated by this upgrade, mean additional venting, fans etc would be required

Ballast was $229. New socket ends were $32. I took Mission's advice and got el cheapo bulbs in 20K ($20 for the pair from AquaTraders). About $300 all told. If I'm liking the 20K's, I'll eventually get some SPS BlueLife 20K's from Tangster for about $75/bulb.

The extra heat shouldn't be an issue, as this same fixture is made by Coralife in 250W, and the parts list shows the same fan used in both models.

$300 for the upgrade, and I originally bought this fixture from a fellow electrician buddy of mine for $375--so $675 all told.
