I've pretty much decided on upgrading from a 25g tall to a standard 30g tank(it's not much bigger but my current tank is scratched and I want a shallower tank)

Part of this planned upgrade is to upgrade my lights as well. My simple dual bulb HO t5 was great but I want to upgrade to a better fixture(LED). The light can't be hung from the ceiling due to the window the tank is in front of. So I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for an affordable light?

Get a Kessil a150w with a gooseneck clamp. It hangs from the back of your tank. Not to mention Kessil LEDs look like Metal Halides and have an amazing shimmering affect. Thats what I have on my tank and corals look amazing aswell :)

Do you think I would have dark areas in the corners or end of the tank?
