Actually my Tiger Wardi Goby had his home about 3" away from my 5" diameter orange short tentacle plate (Funiga). No issues at all with him. They can actually shed any sand that lands on them just fine. I would go with a sandsifting goby over a jawfish though, as jawfish completely rearrange the sand in your tank whereas the goby will only move a small amount IME. Make sure your sandbed is well established before adding one, and get one that eats prepared foods. Mine ate everything I threw in the tank.

Do you think the SOL's put out more PAR than the Hydra's?

I think so, at least it looks that way to my eye.

Hmm.. I'll be receiving 3 Hydra's for my 210, today. =/ I hope I don't have the spotlight affect with these fixtures. That isn't going to fly.

You should not. They have 80 degree optics which are pretty wide. Def less spotlighting than SOLs.

I sure hope not. I have 2 TaoTronics over my 125, that have 120 degree optics. No issues with spotlighting. I've been somewhat concerned, with the 80 on the Hydra's.
