Toadstool does that often especially when it is stressed. Mine took 6 days to extend polyps again. Make sure to run carbon because it will release toxin during the process.

When I first got mine it took more than a week for the TS to open up only because it was shedding. As soon as I put it in front of my powerheads the slime came right off and the polyps started to come out.

Interesting thanks for the comparison pics, mine def looks similar to your before pic. I may direct more flow to it's head, but so far it has the polyp bumps but still not extending.. and I wait....

Good news, my Toadstool is starting to come alive, it has expanded nicely and I'm finally seeing the polyps start to bud/extend. I'm psyched to see it when it's fully open and extended.

Here's some new pics of it.

    Thanks for all advice/info!

Hey mojoe, I have a mature toadstool and it just shrinks every now and then and then it comes back bigger with longer tenticles. I do believe the orange mushroom next to mine was stinging it away from it. It's just very wierd what goes on in the tank. Mine shriveled up for a few days and sheaded some stuff and my sohol tang was having it for lunch but now you can see it's fine but it has since angled itself away from the muchroom. Who knows?

yep the one i have is 16 inches tall and does the same thing. i just add flow to that area durring the process. i wouldnt touch it though cause mine will close up for the rest of the day and maybe longer when i touch it. its wierd cause the longnose hawk and yellow clown goby both lay in the coral without it getting upset.
