I have had this dwarf for almost 2 years now. I have recently noticed something in his mouth (his right side, our left looking at him in the picture) It appears to be some sort of white growth that now appears to have connected his bottom jaw to upper jaw. Unfortunately this has stopped him from being able to eat the krill I give him every 3-4 days. He used to be very active come food time and swim/eat the frozen mysis I feed the rest of the tank but he now doesnt seem interested in that either. Wondering if there is anything I can do or just hope maybe this growth goes away or tears? so he can open his mouth again.

I know the picture is not great but it was the best I could get at the time

    Thanks for any input

Feeding krill to a Lionfish causes lock jaw. There is no cure as far as I know. Fish and shrimp are the preferred diet for Lionfish.

Thanks Vinny for the link and info. Will certainly change the food I feed him if he makes it through. Although it looks like it from the picture, I do not think he has lockjaw. He can close his mouth without any issues. There is a some sort of white growth that connects upper and lower areas of his mouth. Thoughts what that could be?
