Oh that's cool to get all involved. Also, who knows an ugly tank better than those at reef cleaners? :p

So when will the lucky/unlucky :) winner be announced?

This was a hard decision, and since I can't vote for myself, I vote for tank # 6. The one covered in aiptasia!!!! Algae wise it's about the same as the others, but I had to pick one and the aiptasia sent it over the top! Do I get an "I voted" sticker now? :p

    thanks!

algae only for the purposes of this contest still on future votes, but to be honest whoever you vote is who you vote for. When we are done you will be able to see all that aiptasia clearly at least.

I like this thread, makes me feel much better about my tank. As for judging, is it pure "ugliness" or mainly focused on algae issues? Will you take rock work (or lack thereof) into count, substrate, placement of power heads, equipment in the tank etc.?

I voted based on algae problems and used the ugliness factor to break the tie. Hybrid approach. However, John said future voters should cast their vote based purely on algae.
IMO, another criteria for voting should be difficulty of removal and whether or not the algae problem appears to be due to lack of maintenance.
