I always just put some loose rock around mine. When they crawled over, I would take them back to the shop for $$!

    ;D

If only it was that easy. :) Xenia and anthellia also jump ship when the rock that they're growing on becomes overpopulated. Naturally, the "jumping" polyps always land in a place where they are not easily removed and start populating the new area within a few weeks :(

I use the rubble rock method my self , and have sold 9 frags to my LFS @ $15 each. To me its worth it . I now dont have to buy things from that place anymore. I just use their store credit. Thats what i would do if i were you.

here is an idea....i use natural reef products, the reef former concertrate, just put it in to a syringe and squirt it in to the center of the polyps....it will melt them...

    good luck

another sugestion is to improve your water quality...xenia do not do well in good water...they are a weed that likes dirty or water that is not the best of quality...i cant keep it in my tank...

I have tried to GIVE it away and nobody wants it. I usually flush it after the cuttings. I even have the white pompom and no one wants it! I kept mine contained by cutting it off and smearing superglue over the exposed skin to suffocate it-cruel I know!~but a reefer has to do what he has to do to survive. The kind from the $1 store works well 4 tubes for 1 buck-good luck
