First of all, a clam of that size will not live very long in an aquarium so I wouldn't purchase any clam smaller than 3". As for acclimation, I would acclimate it the same way I would any other sensitive invert. Drip acclimate for an hour or more, depending on how different the water is between the two tanks.

depends on the kind of lighting! but as you said it was 1.5", chances are slim

No. A clam will quickly outgrow a nano tank and will also suck calcium out of the water like crazy. Unlike fish, clams do not grow according to the amount of space they have to grow in.

For a nano tank? Sexy shrimp or, if you can afford their feeding requirements, harlequin shrimp.

they eat chocolate chip starfish and maybe others. To me I could not possibly buy starfish just to feed the harlequin.

I have a coral beauty and i dont have any issues with him and my clams. [then again its different between specific fish]. I have a maximas, and I just added a Squamso last night [i havent gotten to see him with the lights on, stupied job...]
I payed 60 for the Maxima and he was just about 3" or so, and 50 for the Squamso which is 3"+

That expains why I lost my cresa (sp). What is the deal with clams smaller then 3"? Why is the survial rate so much less in a home aquarium?
