So ive had a yellow tip torch coral for about a week now, and he's doing great. I just have one question..his tentacles have always been on the shorter side, why? From my past torches, they've all had long tentacles. I was just wondering why this is? He's quite large and has tons of tentacles. But they never fully extend. And please don't ask about my water parameters or lights:). I've checked my water yesterday, and I've had tons of LPS before, and they've all thrived with my lighting. Oh yeah and it's a 25g.

If you tossed him in only a week ago, he could still be getting used to the lights. Could also be euphyllia-eating flatworms.

Or it wasn't getting proper nutrition in the tanks it was in before it got to you.

All possibilities, its hard to know. Just keep him away from other corals he may have gotten stung

Flow is the main thing with euphyllia corals. They tend to like a soft, alternating flow. Just don't put it in a "no flow" area but a gentle flow, even in the undertow, is ideal for this type of coral. HTH.
