Not to be that guy, but have you read anything on these? There are 40,000 websites that can tell you how to take care of any specific coral. Google is your friend. If you can't be arsed to search for five minutes, please don't buy it.

    (Oops, I became that guy).

Just spending 15 minutes on google has given me more info than I can possibly use on the four new softies in my tank.

    Saw that one coming ;)
I rarely feed mine. Maybe once a month if that. You do not need to feed it daily by any means.
If you do decide to feed it, a liquid diet will do absolutely nothing for it. It needs meaty items. Chopped up shrimp or silversides will work nicely.

+ 1 on all advice re placement in relation to flow

couple of other things to know about these and in fact most LPS corals

they dont like being handled when open, so if you move them, waft a hand or some tongs over them until they retract and then move them by the stalk or the rock or frag plug they are attached to - contact when extended can lead to the demise of the head that was contacted

they dont like rapid condition changes , so if your doing manual bucket based water changes make sure you dont pour in the new salt water anywhere near them, a direct hit with salt water can result in the demise of one or more heads

they dont like being in contact with any rock work or potential sharp objects when extended , they are easily cut and any contact with an abrasive surface when extended can result in the demise of the heads

so open placed in relation to other corals and also the reef structure is where I have had the most success with this species

+1 to steve on his placement comments. I have fed my from time to time, with mysis, with all pumps off... it seems to draw up around it but its hard to say if it actually ate them or not. Be very careful not to move it or bump the soft tissue on it while its open or there is a chance the head may die slowly..thats how mine did, I layed it on the sand to move some rocks and learned a valuable lesson in the process. :)

    Hope this helps -
    Tom

You may have some reaction if you touch a tentacle with your cuticles or something. It just feels like a mosquito bite IME..just sort of itches..nothing to worry about..i think the sweeper tentacles may pack a little more of a punch though
