Very nice Moulton, plenty of ways to 'skin a cat'!

I'm now using long thin plastic coated twist ties so I can quickly take one side off to clean it, thile the other keeps growing, I'm going to try and alternate the cleaning so one side always has some algae on it.

True about skinning cats! I figured my second post might help someone out vs zip ties!

    Yes,
I'm actually using 'twist ties'= Easy on and off, no cutting, etc.

Now that I read all about algae scrubbers. Did you do away with your Skimmer and Cheato? I lost two fish the other due to the Skimmer over flowing during I guess a power outage. So after reading all about an ATS seems like it's full proof. How do you like it so far?

    Hi there Rolo,

    So Far- ME LIKES IT!

I think when it's growing algae- it is sort of **** proof, no ones a fool here!

I've already gotten fid of 80% of my chaeto- (I had massive amounts), and it still seems to be less algae than in a long time. Either the system is going through a good cycle, or I'd like to think it's my new ATS!
I do plan on getting rid of the chaeto in a few more weeks.

The skimmer- is skimming much less trhen usual, however, I think I"ll have it for bood, at least several more months. Then I'll take it offline and see what happens.

Recently I've had some 'scrubber hitchhikers', my turbo snails are getting on my scrubber sheet and feeding away! One of them is very close to my ATO apparatus.

Second cleaning of second sheet today.
    Even more algae than before.

Things are looking great, it's working well.
I keep thinking of that line from an old Who song 'I don't get fooled again' though.
Is this too good to be true? I hope not

Ewwwww. Don't waste that stuff Todd. As member Barbianj used to say. That's liquid gold. Best fertilizer on the planet.

Although I don't plan on continued Documentation of my 2 sheet/ 2 sided ATS-

This is my left side, 3rd cleaning:

    Still more algae.

This time I scraped off chunks and fed it to my DT! They ate it right up.
Now I feel like an algae farmer/fish food farmer!- J/K

Have you had any increased splash since it has started to get dirtier? I had issues with it getting on my lights because of splash as time went on.

Well, I was, like I posted earlier, I'm using clear saran wrap over the tip section near the upper tube. That keeps virtually all the splash off- easy and cheap.
