Well once again - no pictures

And to compound things- I've been working out of town a LOT lately. The feeding I've delegated to my sons, and everything else is sort of automated (even without an APEX)
I havene't been able to play doctor on my ailing system as much.
    This weekend, bewtween two water changes, I will have changed about 105 gallons;
still only ~ 33% of my system. This is an attempt to get remaing residue out of the system of the levamisole, and whatever other impurities too.
I am running GAC in a bag in a high flow area,
    and still skimming too.

For years, I was a very successful reefer, keepin all kinds of nice sps, and a very mixed reef.
For that reason- I'm not giving up on my system.

To look at my DT/FT now though- you'd never even guess I was successful in the past.
Just about all the coral bleached itself- no it wasn't the lights, of alk, or params, or temperature.

There is a good side to this as well though- you know, when lifes gives you lemons..... sort of thing.
It also ended up killing all those ~ thousand green striped discoma mushrooms I had everywhere!
Seems to have also wiped out the encrusting gorgonean I wanted to also get rid of!
And, ALL the fish are fine, like nothing has happened-
well except the clowns are wondering where their respective BTA's are- seems to have wiped them out too.

I'm pretty positive it was the result of dosing levamisole- at the accepted full strength- 3 times within a 36hr period of time- I only have myself to blame.

So, I"m making lemonade- metaphorically speaking

Now I can start things up again without the invasive 'pest' coral I've been wanting to get rid of.
With the larger system, a lot of rock encrusted etc, it's hard to get that stuff out without distrubing the sps colonies on top too. Not really a problem anymore though.

So people- those that had seen what I thought was my really nice reef,
It will rise again- yea I know, it'll take years like it did this time though.
It will be even better however.

So now I have a FOWLRABC Fish only with live rock and bleached coral!

Your positivity shows that your tank will only get better Todd. I do miss seeing your pics though. When I first joined your tank always inspired me.

    I'm still around,
fish are all well, as is a few softies, and astrea starfish.

No snails, shrimp, conch, lps or sps

My water is fine though- has been for a while after by debackle.

I'm thinking in September I'll start with some frags one again-
dpt this time they'll spend weeks in my FT- that will NOT be hooked in the system anymore.
I'm taking it off the main system when starting new- on it's own sump.
MIght have to build a much smaller ATS too!

ouffff thats a hard blow, why in Gods name where you dosing levamisole (never heard of this btw)....from a quick google search seems people use it to cure Ich, but sounds like a miracle solution....Never thought you would have bit THAT bullet.... anyway....the harder they fall the better they rise ;)

Yesterday I finally got around of taking my FT off the main system, and rigging it's own sump, RP, and ATS
It was only a re-plumbing issue, but it was hard when you re-use lots of fitting you already had, etc.

Here's a pic of my simple sump for the FT only.
With my back lit ATS- I'm going for one side lighting for now.

By putting the FT on it's own system,
I now have 100% of the flow going up to the DT.

Levamisole is actually a deworming med for farm animals. I think I saw a used in human colon cancer as well.
There are some threads over on RC on it, trying to get rid of AEFW- Acopora Eating Flat worms.
I was using it for AEFW
There were mixed results, but dosages were given and discussed.
Basically, I got too crazy and dosed my system several times in too short a time period.
Wiped almost everything out- except the fish- which were not affected.
I'll bet the fish have no worms though!

I now plan to dip new to me corals in Bayer, and
place in my now separate FT- off the main system for QT and inspection purposes.

    Hey all,
Here's some/most of my coral- still in my FT/QT

I think I hear reggae in the background...
And my currently, nearly coralless DT, with a newer/revised scape- took at least #60's + of rock out too.
