Tips on caring for a goniopora coral

So my girlfriend surprised me with a new coral.. and im fairly new to this.. and not exactly sure what this is .. anything would help just so i know how to care for it. thanks !

 

it looks like a goniopora coral or flower pot. can be alittle difficult to raise generally needs to be target fed.

they are tougher to take care of zeger. generally tend to like "dirtier" water. on the sand bed generally is where you will find this. where in canada are you? and welcome to 3reef.

 

North bay, ontario.. So it should be placed in the sand you say ? , and what should i be feeding it

Update on the Goniopora

Hey so i took the advice moved it closer to the substrate and have been target feeding with a turkey baster every few days, and figured id throw up some new pictures.. it looks much better already!

I have two goniopora and love them! They are so pretty. I don't do anything special with mine. They are low-mid tank level and happy little buggers. I think they get a bad rap!
