Your gonna love that salt chris. Try raising the mag above 1400. I notice the hornets and rastas look bad when my mag was below 1400. Could mean nothing but just a suggestion.

 

Pulled the trigger today and picked up a Eshopps IV-200 from someone who was getting out of hobby and had never used it. Still in sealed box $150.00 not to bad seeing I needed it asap.

All set up and will be dosing ALK and MAG. Leaving tomorrow for 4 day business trip so will be interesting to see what levels are.

Have it on the Apex to failback off if we have any power issues/storms.

Coral Pro doing a better job on my alk but mag just continues to drop.
Also need to keep eye out for another 8 bus bar.

 

What are you using for a mag test?

 

I use Red Sea but have salifert for cross reference.
Just got back from trip so will test things tomorrow.

 

I recently switched to salifert and I can't believe how off my red sea pro kits were. It kept showing low calcium and magnesium so I was dosing more frequently to raise the levels only to find out I was over dosing. The corals showed signs of stress big time. I was shocked when I did the tests with salifert I ended up doing each one 3 more times.

 

K will check with Red Sea and Salifert tomorrow.
Calcium always comes up around 430 and I am not dosing for that so should be good I hope ha ha

Really interested in what my ALK shows.

Salifert is coming up 1200 I am not believing this reading. This kit is older than the Red Sea so will need to get a replacement
red sea 1400 I have been dosing 10ml Mag a day so tend to believe this reading.
alk hannah 9.83 Going to reduce 6ml daily dose to 3ml. Would like to keep it around 9

Definitely get new salifert kits. My calcium always read 390 and it was above 500. Now that everything is stable it's a major difference. My mag is 1480, calcium is 460 and Alk is 10.2.

 

Been quite sometime since I placed an order on BRS. Need to stock up on some things.
Have the BRS Miro-4 2x24 in the basket really debating pulling the trigger. Should I go 2 blue +??

alk 10.3 dosing 4ml a day over 2 doses
cal 430 420 dosed 10ml
MAG 1380 1380 increased does to 20ml a day spread out over 8 doses
The growth really threw things out of whack and manually dosing was not working

Need to automate as much as possible so when I am away the wife will need to due very little.

I desperately need a new tank LARGER tank. I really need to start working on piecing things together. Now where did I leave that money tree ???

 

went ahead and bought the T5 retro kit and 2 Euroquatics E5 Retrofit T5 LED Lamps Blue Pop - 24 Inch
Hopefully get it put on this weekend.
