    Ive got the 100 in-sump on my broodstock system. Love it! Thinking about breaking down and getting the HOB version for my 47 Column (30" Tall).

    No you can't. As a matter of fact I shut mine down about a month ago because it works to well. My xenia began to die back and the chaeto stopped growing.

    reefmonkey, is that why our chaeto stopped growing cause of the skimmer. maybe we have to stop the skimmer base on what you said.

    My guess is that the skimmer pulled to much nutrient from the water which would be excellent if I had an SPS dominant setup. But considering I have a mixed reef I prefer to have the water a little on the "dirty" side. It's a fine line keeping my SPS and especially my Xenia happy and using the skimmer made it impossible so I shut it off and let the macro's do their job. I also do a 15% water change weekly.
