Ask questions and be open to the answers.

You have asked questions all your life to gain knowledge on a particular thing or a hobby such as fish keeping. No one person knows everything but there is an endless FREE information center at your fingertips you just have to ask. Just know that the right answer may not always be the answer you want to hear.

Keep track of your test kit expiration dates.

API is generally 3 year, Salifert has stickers on the box with the exp. date.

I don't always test but when I do I need it to be right.

Plain, no additive magic erasers are great glass cleaners. Buy the cheapest ones you can find (dollar store), put them in between your mag float and the glass and it cleans the glass really well. I cut mine to squares that fit my mag float and then cut them in half thickness, to get more scrub pads per buy.

Also works wonders while cleaning up used tanks after a vinegar soak.

Don't go cheap on equipment, you will just end up buying things twice and spending more money in the long run.
