This is an expensive hobby. Expecting the government to share in the costs for people's pets is ridiculous on the face of it. Trying to bend the law to gain some benefit results in more deficit and other people paying for your hobby. Instead, let's be creative, help each other extract what cost savings we can. and independent.;D- Paul

A pet is a pet is a pet is a pet. Can't species discriminate.

Sure you can. If I put my yellow tang back in the ocean, he will probably go right back to what he was doing before he was caught. If I release my pet bird, she would be toast in a few hours.

with the clipped wings right ;)

maybe if we start clipping fish tails so they can't swim after their own food we could take this credit?

I applaud your patriotism, but I respectfully disagree with your economics.

One of the few rules on 3reef is NO POLITICS.
Please refrain from going that route on this topic.

    Thanks,

What about ORA corals. Technically, they are animals. They have been bred in captivity for several generations. Then your lights would count as a needed item for your pets.;D

Wait..... We have rules.....When did this happen?

YEA, AND IF A BULLFROG HAD WINGS. I live on a canal with red mangroves. Between the keys and the reef there is a few miles of grass beds and patch reefs, my point is nowhere is safe. Fish die left and right, the predation is unrelenting. There are snappers and baby cudas everywhere. If I were to release my blenny=toast, hogfish=toast, leopard wrasse=toast, maroon=toast, goby=might get lucky, your yellow tang=toast, girlfriends poodle=toast. If you spend money raising and caring for an animal thats not meant for food, then it's a pet or will be for someone else. Right?

The tax credit defo makes sense, they are DEPENDENTS.
