Yeah. I'm not a fan of my hanna ca meter... Love the phosphate one. And no matter how you go about it alk is strait forward so who cares... I mean it's easy to read

This is good work, I am currently fighting with a test kit. I purchased a seachem multiple test kit and I hate it. It's so difficult. Especially the ammonia test. I had to go out last night and get a API ammonia test from the petco

I got new style Red Sea reef foundation cal/all/mag test kit.

I noticed right away my alk was reading higher then before. My mag was reading through the roof!!

So I mixed new batches of reef crystals and h2ocean and used API kits, old style Red Sea and new one to measure alk/cal in newly mixed water. Then I used Salifert mg test kit and new Red Sea for mg.

API, salifert and old style red sea were spot on to what salts advertised at 1.026. I guess I got good salt batches.

New Red Sea read cal spot on, matching salt, API and old style Red Sea. But alk with new kit was 1 dkh to high. Mag was 300ppt to high.

That much for new kits :(

I am new to this hobby. Even though it's an older thread the information is still very helpful.

Salifert or red sea is the best choice for testing.
