    hmm,

i guess minnows or celestial rainbows are out eh? although a nice school of 6 or so would be great with your danios :D

a black knife would be awesome, but he will out grow your 15g

a black banded leporinus would be nice as well, but same problem as with the knife, will outgrow your tank.

I would really love to do that...you haven't noticed any fin nipping? These danios are comparatively peaceful, but...they're a species-only tank right now. I just would hate to put a betta in there and then they harass it.

    Maybe worth a shot.

you could get glofish, which are another type of zebra danio, created buy gene splicing.

Is what I always had with mine. Pretty peaceful fish and will reproduce often if tank if well kept.

Like a trio of swordtails, or I could just keep one? Swordtails don't need to be kept in schools, do they?

Swordtails don't need to be kept in schools, but you can keep multiples. HOWEVER, make sure you get all males or all females or else you'll end up with tons of babies. They won't grow up, but if you don't want to see baby fish get eaten, than go with all male or female. Honestly, I do think a Betta would be fine in there. If it doesn't work out, you can get rid of it or set up it's own little 5 gallon tank or something. I would give it a shot if you want to. I think it would work. After all, Betas can stick up for themselves.

But having a ton of babies is what makes this hobby great.

Go crazy, get one male and 5 females and have a ball ;p
