I just want to know how big everyone's tank is and how many GF they have.
Well, we have 3 tanks total.
One is a 46 gallon saltwater tank with 2 Ocellaris Clowns, 6 line wrasse, coral beauty, molly miller blenny, yellow watchman goby paired with a tiger pistol shrimp, and various other inverts and corals.
Another is a 9 gallon saltwater cube with a mantis shrimp and a 3 stripe damsel.
And the last one, which is relevant to your question, is a 10 gallon freshwater with 2 fat and happy goldfish as well as an assortment of tetras.
i have a 20 gallon long with 5 comet/shubunkin goldfish eventually they will go to a 40 breeder.
Uhh.... each fancy goldfish needs 10 gallons and each single tail needs 20
I've got a 1000 Gal tank with Qty 2 gold fish. Standard, plain old and about a pound and a half each. They are big enough the 18" bass leave them alone. hehe
yea i know im over stocked for the future, there only about 3 inches each right now.
after the 40 they might end up in a pond but one day at a time
Oh. Just checking to see if you knew that.
Mine are feeder goldfish that survived the regime of a pet turtle :
Do you have pics of this??? 1000 gallons is absolutely ginormous for a tank. Unless you're talking about an outdoor pond?
I've got 2 40g tanks side by side on a 6 foot stand. 11 turtles in ther but no GF. I've gat a 125g and a 30g that are empty at the moment. The 125 probably has a future with the turtles and I hope to have a reef tank running by this summer.
Let's just stick to GF, please. No offense.
I'm not trying to badger anyone here or be the killjoy...but the thread asks for tank sizes and amount of goldfish in the tanks. Meaning, someone could answer with "50 gallon saltwater reef with zero goldfish" and it would be an answer to the question.
Maybe it could be rephrased to: "How many and what type of goldfish do you have and what size tank are they in?"
That could help with any confusion
Oh. I just wanted to know about goldfish. I'm not really into tropicals or other spieces. That's what I ment.
My girlfriend has a 10 gallon tank. In it are 4 feeder goldfish, which will be replaced with two of the bulging eye types.
I also have a pound with two feeder goldfish that are 7 years old, and about 7" long. They had babies once but they all disappeared. (cat probably ate them)
when i worked at petsmart the rule of thumb that we always told the customers was 2gallons per inch of goldfish---which is actually a little more than other freshwater fish (1 gal/in)
oh sorry--right now i have a ten gal with three 1in goldfish
i have 1 goldfish in a 5 gal. aquarium is this okay
it depends how big the fish is, eventually you will want to have a 20 gallon tank for that one goldfish atleast.
fancies get 10 inches
common/comet/shubunkins get 20 inches.
contrary to many peoples belief fish dont grow to the size of the tank. but if the tank is too small the fish probably will die before maxing out its size..
Right now I have two new 1 inch goldfish in a 5 gal tank. Lady at Petsmart said it should be okay, but then I did more research and found out it;s only good until they start to GROW. So I'll be investing in a larger tank in the future. >.>
I have a 30 gallon tank with two comets...
I have one 7" goldfish that we got from the county fair 2 years ago. He in a 55 gallon and getting ready to go into a 150 gallon this weekend!
