Ok I'm planning on moving my 40gal tank like 5 feet in my room because I kinda hate where its at there is no plugs behind it...so what im plannig to do is to drain half the water take off all filters and put floor movers under each corner and slide it like five feet. Im not going to remove any livestock, but should I or what? What do you think??

Sounds like a good plan, you will probably be moving about 300 lbs that way.

it sounds like a plan to me

but I would be hesitant to be honest as it you have an accident, one of the movers comes loose or a rock slides, you end up with 20 gallons of water on the floor and a minor panic

I would want the rock or at least any rock that is stacked on other rock out of the way before attempting it

40 gallons and a lightly stocked tank, is a couple of hours graft IME

I would have large tubs , toy boxes, or buckets, fill them with water, move the livestock (not fish) and rockwork or as much as I felt might give me an issue if it toppled

move the tank with minimal amount of water and the fish probably

and then re set it back up in its new location
