    Ugh. So fiance got everything, but he didn't measure the stand....so the 40 gal breeder won't fit on it.

    So here's another night of hoping the whole tank doesn't display itself on my living room floor.

    hmmm, perhaps you could keep a large cup of the surface sand you currently have, boil the rest, let it dry in the sun, put it back in and seed it with the cup you saved?

    DANG this sucks I was just about to say you should get a 40B and petco is having their sale but I guess you already figured that out!!! geez well I hope everything goes okay... any updates for today?

    +1. Since you are replacing the sand AND cleaning the rock, you will reduce the bacteria which could cause a cycle. I would keep the media for additional bacteria and use only saltwater to clean the rock.

    Sorry for your problems Kacy. I'm sure you will overcome.

    Thanks for checking in today guys!

    Ok, so I'll keep the filter media the same, but I did buy a new filter. That other one was yuck!

    My dog had physical therapy today, so we were busy doing that. My fiance is right now returning the stand and getting a new one.

    So we should be starting this project any time now!! AHH Nervous.
