Hi. I just wanted to know what is the best way fishless to cycle my 29 gallon for my goldie. I am starting with a new tank. I was going to start with flakes or ammonia. How much flakes and how often. Thanks Mike

    hey Mike

for a Goldfish , I would suggest using Tetra Aquasafe water conditioner and something like Hagen cycle or Sea Chem Prime , to condition the water and neutralise any nasties in there

is Goldie getting a tank up grade?
if its an upgrade from an unfiltered tank, cube or bowl then the above would be good coupled with using as much of its present water as possible in the new set up and the gravel and decor aswell

ifs it an upgrade from a smaller filtered set up , move your established filters to the new tank, along with the water, gravel and decor

If its a new set-up with nothing from an established tank you can toss a raw shrimp in the water for a few days to get the cycle going.
