    Sylvania or any major brand, yes. Ice Cap over drive the bulbs lessening their life and producing more energy than your tank will need.

    So I could use two $25 Sylvania ballasts 2x54 watt) with ATI bulbs and good reflectors and I'll have light capable for SPS?

    Yes as long as the ballasts run the bulb at 95% to 100% power.
