SWC Skimmers just keeps on releasing new products at break neck speed, and this week's new product is the HOT hang on skimmer. With a rating of 65 gallons, this space saving little skimmer packs some punch. We decided to put this little beauty on our little rimless reef to see what it could do, and as always with an SWC, we were pleasantly surprised!

Check out our video tour for some more detail:

The HOT installs easily and getting it going is a breeze. It has an external pump design, so just start siphon and it foams right up. The pump is located at the bottom of the filter and is easily accessible for maintenance. After about a week of break-in the skimmer started to stabilize some and I could finally get it adjusted to make some nice dark skim. The cup moves up and down to get it running right and after that you will notice very quickly some nice dark skimmate landing in the cup. Noise is near silent on this skimmer thanks to the included air silencer.

As far as HOT\HOT skimmers how would this compare to the AquaC Remora, which would be similar in gallon rating and price (a lil more $).

Same question here, I'm on the market to replace my Prizm. More info and 3reef discount coupon would be good, seems like price wise it's in Remora/CPR aeroforce class. Can't consider this skimmer compared to AquaC or CPR only cuz of lack of info. I can't even find the dimensions :(
