    Hello everyone,
    Just started up a brand new 55 gallon tank. We have a 46 bowfront freshwater tank going and this is our first foray into salt. We ordered 50 lbs of dry rock from reefcleaners a few weeks ago and after a shipping snafu finally received it last Thursday. Now we have the tank filled and cycling with a small piece of LR from Petco and 80 lbs of Caribsea Arag-Alive Bahamas Oolite sand. We're looking forward to stocking it before Christmas with a pair of clowns and maybe an anemone. As far as equipment we don't have room for a sump in the stand (only 10.5" deep) so there's a HOB skimmer. There's also an Emperor 400 filter running as well until the dry rock is seeded then planning on converting it into a refugium with chaeto and maybe a few mangroves.

    Welcome! instead of using the Emperor for a fuge check out the HOB fuges! They're a lil pricey for the larger ones but I've heard great things about them. Also don't forget a suitable light for that anemone if you plan on getting one.
