I have decided to build a sump for my 12 g. I am hoping it will be about 200 gph. Do you think this is enough for lps and softies. I am thinking an external durso for my 1/2" drain. I am planning on a quiet one 1200. The return will be 3/4" to a T then 1/2". Any suggestions on my set up, size of pipe, pump, etc.

1/2 inch drain maybe a little small. Durso's work on a down sized pipe once the straight pipe gets to the level of the bottom of the tank. This is only to reduse the gergle sound. But it would cause you to use 1/4 PVC. Not much flow through that.

But I guess with a 12G you don't really want to drill a 1 inch hole. I say give it a try it would be really cool
