sump feed with a pump?

    how do u match a drilled tanks gravity sump feed with a pump?????

    you mean how do you find a pump that can keep up with the drain from the tank above? the pump will determine how fast the tank drains. as the pump brings water in it goes over the overflow and back down. then you just make sure to leave enough room in the sump to catch the water in the lines and you are in business.

    You can actually put more water in the tank with the pump and overflow your tank if your drains are to small to let it gravity feed back to the sump.

    So then ur better off going with a pump that is small than what the overflow is rated??

    what size over flow piping???

    What flow are you wanting out of your sump?

    Sort of. If the pump is larger than it ought to be, you'll have to keep the tank too full with extra water pouring over the overflows to keep up. Ideally you should have a slightly larger pump and put some kind of valve on the output side of the pump to tune things after you get set up. That way you can use the maximum amount of water movement without having the tank too full.- Paul
