The sails will go over or through the holes and any loose chateo or other type of algae will initially get caught but eventually push through as well -I speak from recent first hand experience
Worth a try I guess... not a major flaw for a first timer
Some more pics
The old wet/dry with no protein skimmer at all...
Another Macgyver Invention with eggcrate. This is going to be the bottom of my bubble tower. 8)
lol, don't feel bad, how do you think I found out it wasn't effective long term?
Funny, that's the first thing I thought when I saw the pics. You can't contain them, only hope to slow them down. I've had them crawl right up my Remora skimmer and into the water outlet area. Boy, what a lot of noise the water makes running over a snail. Thought I had sprung a major leak.
lol, they will show up in the damnedest places
I have a floating thermometer/hydrometer(SpG) that free floats in the tank and somehow one managed to reach it for cleaning
Slowing them down will do then lol
Bubble Tower complete!
Finished the Bubble tower today ;D pics in a few
Some base rock will go in here..
The rest of the baffles are to be put on tomorrow and then comes the "dry" test!
