I have to rotate my sock every 3-4 days--I would not want that much in my fuge--just personal pref.--Nitrates are zero now, bugs are thriving, chaeto growing like mad--what more could I ask for????

I know I am bumping a SUPER old thread....and it is really late so I am super tired.....but I guess I am missing how the in and out of the water works. I see the 2 distinct lines to the fuge, but I think I read where they are so one doesnt get clogged?

He said he was pumping the water in with a power head I think. I set up a fuge with the same bulb and my chato just faded away, never really grew. I was at petsmart the other night, and they had a thread in 50/50 bulb for 10 bucks. I might try that. I'm running bio pellets now so not sure if the chato would grow.

Yes, Small powerhead from the sump to the back of the fuge, then water just returns from the fuge to the sump. You can also hard plumb it from the overflow with a valve to split the flow between the sump and the fuge. I chose not to do it that way, cause I felt like too much trash from the D/T would get into the fuge. That bulb grew Chaeto...So-So. Grows the hell out of Mangroves though!!!
