    hey everyone so im looking into keeping SPS. and was thinking of starting up a 40 gallon SPS tank. the thing is i have never kept these types of corals, have tried and failed.

    what do i need to do to keep these suckers alive ?

    besides having strong lighting how do i sucsesfully keep SPS?

    anything in perticular, like when testing is there anything special i should make sure is in a certain range ?

    Strong water flow, salinity, amnonia, Magnesium levels, nitrate levels, nitrite, calcium, akilinity, PH. And Iodine levels, Carbonate hardness, and phosphate, I think I got them all. The key is consistancy in the specified acceptable range.

    You can start out with more hardy sps such as montipora, there are a wide variety to choose from. Then you can move on to more difficult ones like acropora and the like.
