    hello..can brown algae like diatoms grow on sps corals. i had a brown acr o but it faded to kind of a yellow color. Now it's kind of brown and yellow i see like little brown hairs i'm wondering of thats diatoms growing on it.

    Not that I'm aware of. Fading may be due to a lack of light intensity.

    yeah i think so but theres like brown hairs on it like brown algae can get.

    Try blowing it off with a turkey baster. If it is Algea it will smother the coral and kill it. If it wont blow off it maybe the corals poyps. Can you get a pic

    Those tanks are beautiful but they don't have any SPS's in them....did I miss the point? ::)
