:laughings Don't think he knew he had them until it was too late. Now that I know his husbandry skill I don't trade with him any more. Better safe then sorry.

Or you was in a place to buy it all....;D That's what rushing into things will get you. How big are you going?? I would say this 265g will be my last. I kept
my old 55g for 23 years.

Hey guys, How are you measuring consumption. I would assume you are turning off all reactors and just measuring over a 24 hour period.

today I took my Kalk Reactor off line. I just can't get my ALK to be stable it's either way low or climbing to levels that are dangerous.
Any tips on how to stabilize and keep things on the straight and narrow.

I can start a new thread if you would prefer this one to stay on topic

we can stay here, you chimed in, maybe others will, thats why the thread is " sps freaks "

on your Ca reactor your goal is 6.6-6.8 pH on the effluent, the cc/min is based off of your consumption rate
if the dKH is dropping add more effluent keeping the pH range

Ca reactors are actually dKH reactors, if you keep that in mind youll be fine

    this may help

theres a couple ways to measure consumption rate
    1) turn everything off
    2) measure whats going in

if i turn everything off, the tank will be zero by morning, in my case not a good idea
