Stomatella or limpet....need a better pic. Flatworms are flat, what is in the pic does not look flat.

I'm leaning towards limpet, but we definitely do need a better picture.

Hard to be certain from the pic. It's not a Stomatella, and it's not a flatworm. It does like like a really elongated keyhole limpet, although the pic might just make it look more elongated than it really is. A clear pic should let you eliminate the other possibilities (chiton, nudibranch, etc.).

    Cheers,

    Don

Thanks for the replies. I'll try and get a better pic when I can. The one actually photographed died as it was on the rock I had purchased to help cycle. I actually saw it fall from the rock onto my substrate and it landed upside down. The underside was flat and there were no "legs" clearly visible. While I was observing it dead one night I actually saw another tiny worm crawl over it, looked like another flatworm. Think it was eating it, kinda gross. The creature in question was probably 1/4" long max. I discovered more recently since the rock I've been purchasing is coming from the same tank. These are surviving now that my tank ammonia level isn't 8.0!!

I notice they're almost exclusively nocturnal as I don't see them at all during the day. I'll try and get a better pic soon and update. Thanks again.

Did it have kind of a pyramid shape on top? If so, limpet.

No not much for height on it at all.Move real slow too.I only ever see them on rock and I haven't noticed any degredation in my corals so I'm assuming they're ok.
