    Wonder if I was suppose to bury the tube part too? I think this thread has been mostly guess work. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of experience with these soft tubed dusters.

    Now I'm in a state of just documenting what happens for the next person that has questions about it...

    I tried to bury my soft tube after reading this and "he" DID NOT like it..... I put him right back on his rock and he's been open and active. But that's just this one. I'm guessing they all have their own personalities.

    Any feathers I have had did not last being in the open sand. The only feathers that last for me are the ones tucked in a rock. My coco's will live in rocks also. To me it looks like he is making more tube down in the sand and dropping the old tube off and scooting closer to your rock for protection.

    I have had what i think is the same feather duster for around 10 months. i put him the the sand when i first brought him home, he has not tried to move and seems to like where he is at. see pic.
