Then youd be glad to hear my repairs seem to have done the trick. I tested the return pretty thoroughly and didnt spot a leak. I also tested the OFB too. no leak spotted, but i just manually poured water in it and splashed it around it where the gaskets were. When i did the same test last time the leak was evident. well know for sure when i fill it up

So all i need to do is just fill it up with the hose, test it 100% and re silicone a tad and it should be good to go. fingers crossed!

Well check off at least 1 problem. My returns good to go. Im gonna goto HD get silicone, re do the sump. and im gonna fill the tank up with regular water and test the OFB. I keep splashing water around the gasket and down the box and no leaks evident. True test will come tomorrow tho.

Tax money should be here this week, salt (dont know what kind tho, prolly just reef crystals) and some rock to come soon, then cycling, then fish... yada yada yada...

Ive considered it. I like what that does, but im not sure what it does... i know it cycles the tank, but idk how it does it so quick. I feel i wanna take the prolonged cycle approach as to establish a high trate count and algae to get the biofilter in the tank at a high level. It may look ugly but i think that way works, only cuz thats what my 20 did... in a way. It looks ugly at first but when it subsides, the tank will be healthy.

I think algae is unavoidable, to some point. and im okay with that now. Cuz my 16 gallon fuge will hold macro, and ill have my brs reactor running again with some chemipure, and my skimmer is beast rated 50 gallons over my tank. ( gonna be more when i get rock). Ill follow your thread, and see how your tank responds to it, cuz if its legit then hey, why not? l0l

    Thanks for the suggestion bud!

No problem! My cycle had stalled mid-way because of a pH drop so I threw in some microbacter and within three days it was 0-0-0. But there's nothing wrong with the natural route! Lol my tank was still an algae field for 3 weeks though:D
