I really don't have alot of snails for my size aquarium. My tank is 75 gallons. The combination of snails+hermits+RO/DI+tang leave me algaeless. It took a very long time to get that way.

It took me probably 1 and a half years to get no visible algae at all.

I love my coralline. I definitely don't want rid of it. I've got greys, pinks, whites, blacks, greens and dark purples all calcareous type algae. All those colors are one of the main things that make reefs as beautiful as they are.

I have mostly got figi live rock with some tonga. In time if you keep the calcium up the colors will form and start taking over. If you really want some beautiful colors look at kaelini live rock.

Figi is not the best for color, but it is the cheapest and it does the job. Kaelini, which is also known as Marshalls Island LR, is the most colorful rock available. The only additives I add are Kent trace elements, C-balance, Kent coral-vite, and Kent coral-accel. The calcium is what will get the calcarious algaes growing
