Snail or crab? Good or bad?

    The shape of the shell looks like cerith snail which is completely safe. Most people have to pay for it. :D Second thought, a small crab (like hermit) could be hiding inside the shell. Hermits are reef safe too.

    The snail is or was Mastonia rubra, a cryptic little sponge-eating triphorid. It may be housing a tiny hermit now, though. Either one won't be a problem in your tank.
