I just might have to try the hand warmers. Now my electric company says they don't know when we will have power again. I'm in the Seattle, Tacoma area and this ice/snow storm just brought down all kinds of trees. They are bringing crews from out of state to help restore power in this area.

Do you think that the hand warmers would be safe in a plastic baggie to leave in the tank? I can't stay at home and keep an eye on things.

As long as its in a Baggie I don't see why not. I'd double bag though.

Ok, so I went home to make sure the battery air pumps were still working and discovered we have power back! :) All the fish are still alive and the corals look just fine. I really didn't expect it to be back on so soon since I called the power company this morning and they didn't even know when we would have power. I guess one disaster avoided, now time to get that generator with the tax returns lol. :)

RIGHT ON !! ...goooood news !..Its stressful enough, just having power out and young'ns in the house..let alone the fresh tank build....that Generator...I got mine on craigslist for a couple hundred bucks....I fire it up 3 or 4 times a year to keep everything ready...peace of mind is worth a bunch !. Glad to hear all is well..we are getting pounded by that storm right now, 40 mph wind gust...just waiting for the power to drop also...fingers crossed. :)

I wish the best for you. I heard on the news last night that another storm like the one we got last week will hit a week from tomorrow. I don't know what this area will do with another snow/ice storm so close together.

Thanks for the kinds words as well. ;D
