A bunch of these guys suddenly showed up whilst I was on vacation (or at least I noticed them for the first time when I got back.) It looks to be a small colony. My tank sitter did a bit of over feeding so I was trying to clean up, and I thought they were an algae patch, but when I touched them they all retreated into tubes. They are a bright green. Ever seen these before?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Looks and sounds like Hydroids, not positive though. Google Colonial Hydroids.

You are, as always, correct madam. At least mine are pretty, I guess. Should I do anything about them?

    LOL, naugh.

I would take a piece of under water epoxy, pancake it flat and put it over the hydroids for a couple weeks. Over feeding probably made them spring up faster. They're more of nuisance than anything else, they can spread and I have heard of them stinging sensitive corals.
