Sparky..... very nice so far... looking solid.

If I was to make one recommendation is to lower your water level. I have a feeling that your gate valve has to be open almost all the way with that water level height.

They say 5-6 inches sparky. I thought they were on some B.S. but indeed they arent. looks like your around 8 or so. I have my water level set at mid level of the output opening on the valve. looks like yours is completely submerged. Just an initial observation. I have maintained my level and it is my skimmer is rocking. Just emptied a completely full collection cup and I was grossed at at the stench.... I waved the skimmate under my girlfriends nose and she threatened a break up;)

Youll love this bad boy when its broken in and producing the nasty :)

    Looks great!
The only thing I would suggest is to run a longer length of PVC between the manifold and pump, and putting a brace and bracket for the PVC length between the pump and manifold. This will keep a lot of the pressure off the head of the pump. Too much weight, and you'll go through seals and input shafts like crazy.

Yes, I'm at 8". I'll probably wind up placing the skimmer on a perch of some sort. I have to figure out what I'm going to use, and how I'm going to achieve this.

Thanks for that valuable advice, Pack. :) If it'll fit, I'll put a nipple of PVC between the pump and manifold. Hadn't considered that.

You could also brace the individual pipes after the manifold if there is not room. I just like to do things the easy way ;) One bracket vs. four brackets.

Yes, Steve. They're mostly work related, taking the licensing test soon.

I got it at my LFS. Ecosystemaquarium.com says the label. It doesn't seem to get to any website, though. If you're interested, let me know and I can inquire at my LFS if he can get another.

It was $79.99, and came with 2 filter socks. Kinda pricey.
