    hi all were do i start as im new to the hobby of marine fish and stuff that goes into tank can anyone tell me what my skimmer should be doing it is a red sea prizm i have set it up and i have bubbles in the main tube but im sorry to say i know the function of what the skimmer does to tank but im not sure what i should be looking for many thanks the newbe:confused:y

    a skimmer takes out fish waste among other stuff. you should be looking for brown stuff in the collection cup. theres a main tube were all the bubbles go in and the bubbles pull the waste to the top of it were it begins to concentrate.
