So I was at my LFS and saw this small but very rich colored blood red fire shrimp. I wanted it so very badly but I saw the price: $40. Now it's not the price that's annoying me but it's if I get the shrimp now and it dies. I'm worried because My tank finished cycling about a week ago and I don't want to rush it. Should I wait a little bit more or can I get it now? Also what's a good nitrate level for shrimp? (just making sure on that note)

I would let the tank go for a while and maybe start with some Chromis. Thay are cool little cheap fish. I still have the original from my fist tank. Always swimming around. My favorite shrimp is the cleaner shrimp. Lots of personality and always where I can see him. It is way cool to watch him clean my fish and they seem to love it. They run about 20 bucks here at the LFS. Good luck

lol i said online. at my LFS it'd be like $25-$30, but from liveaquaria its like $20 plus $30 shipping or something like that. my LFS sells on regular firefish; i doubt they ever get purple firefish

thanks. i just like the blood shrimp because of its very vivid color. surprisingly my LFS was out of cleaner shrimp today... Weird. As for chromis I dont really like them so I guess they're out. I'll probably add a new fish in a week or 2 or maybe even tomorrow if I find something nice. As for the shrimp I'll wait like a month probably. lol my LFS sells fish at a really expensive price. Cleaners are $26, CBS is $16, Blood shrimp is $40, a black combtooth blenny for $40 ($15 on liveaquaria; figure that! then again shipping is $30 so... yeah.), and even an emperor angel today at $130 (cheaper on liveaquaria!) I'm thinking bloodshrimp, my small maroon clown, purple firefish, and some other goby
