Here is the fuge I made out of an old aquaclear 110 HOB filter. it is on a 10gallon nano and does excellent. it is full of chaeto. I shaved the ends of the pump propeller down in order to get a slower draw from the tank. probably could be a little slower yet to allow the macro algae to do its job better but it works for now.

Hey as long as it does what you need. That is the important thing. I did alot of research before I built mine. I had a 55 gallon for 8-9 months before i got the upgrade fever (still have it). The fuge for that was not so great but it functioned as i needed it to.

Probably a stupid question but no one runs a filter sock in there fuge's? How do you keep the water clear in the DT? I am looking at setting one up soon but I think my dt will look dirty without the filter sock.

With my fuge I run a dual GFO/Carbon reactor. This seems to keep water very clear.

My cabinet area is first timers DIY frankenstein! lol But it works for me. It's an add on after the sump was installed. My fuge is a 19 quart rubbermaid tote. It sits above a 20 gallon sump. It's feed from the return pump and it gravity feeds back into the return section of the sump.

+1 Thats either a very well paid for investment, or he's a very intelligent person with lots of time on his hands....LOL (Just kidding pja24) But Either way, I was kinda worried that his post was gonna spook anybody else from posting a follow up on that one...LOL I wish I were that organized in some manners.

Awesome work, and I'm happy to see the brave ones post after that, ;D
