You could use one of the rails from the kit to mount both units along rail length. Ends of the rail could be attached to some kind of mounting bracket or directly to canopy sides via two bolts than thread into rail ends. That was my ghetto DIY way to hang them. See video (you can see the rail good at 0:34s)

I love the track idea, I may use the same method.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

How is the spread from the back of the tank to the front?

The tank is a 100G LeeMar Diamond Edge. Its 60" long by 18" wide by 23" deep.
As you can see in the photo with the LEDs installed in the canopy, the light strikes the inside of the canopy about 8 or 9 inches below the fixture so spread is very good at 12" above the water level.

Awesome... I should be able to get away with only 3 on my 72x24x29 then. I ordered 4, and then started getting worried about needing more. But seeing this is giving me hope!

I would love to be able to kidnap the fourth one and put it on my 30 gallon.

Would love pics and reviews when you get yours installed. My tank is similar dimensions, but I will only have 6.5 inches AWL if I install them under my canopy. Trying to figure out if I can get away with 3 or not!

We're going to hide the wiring and position the controller a little better this weekend, but here are our AI Sol's.

Incidentally, there are two mounting screws at the top of each unit. If you make secure loops with ferrules, you can then loop the loop over the screw and retighten the screw to hang the light without the frame. That said, I think people are overreacting in their desire to hang the light parallel. They work great perpendicular. If you do the math on the spread arcs, it makes about 2 - 4" difference on total lengthwise area of coverage and that is just a matter of a bit more or less light falling on glass.
