    I have the same dilemma, for one thing you probably need some long pieces to make bridges etc, but even if you don't once you get your corals and stuff growing on it you won't feel so critical. I just bought some live rock and have NO idea how to make it look nice and it's so loaded with live stuff that if I go moving it around it will bash it all up.
