The issue here is that I already have an 8x54W 47" T5 retrofit kit. I ordered an 8x24W 23" T5 retrofit kit. I also ordered all new upgraded ATI and UVL bulbs to match my current fixture. After careful consideration of all the pluses and minus' I'm now leaning heavily toward the 180 gal for practical reasons and for lighting issues. I might still put one metal halide in the back center position but I doubt it because my corals are doiing fine the way it is. I have no intention of getting sps corals as I speak but if that changes I'll add the MH and position them under it. Here are pictures I just took of my current 120 gal tank. I probably have acumulated enough rock for a 265 gal tank. I've lost track of how many pounds I have. It has to be somewhere over 200 lbs. I think I'll try and weigh them when I switch tanks. Lets play quess the weight! Post what you think my rock weighs and after I switch tanks I'll post the actual weight. The measurements give or take an inch and remember to allow for 2 10" x 6" overflows is 41" long, 18" deep, and 18" high. Good luck!:cheesy:

The bulb selection was designed by the grim reefer at reefcentral.com and purchased at the reefgeek.com. The fixture is from buildyouraquarium.com.
    From front to rear:
    ATI Blue Plus 450 mn
    GE 6500K Daylight
    UVL 75/25 14000K Dawn/dusk
    ATI Blue Plus
    UVL Aquasun 10000K Pink
    ATI Blue Plus dawn/dusk
    ATI Aquablue 12000K
    ATI Blue Plus
dawn dusk selection are shown. This is the coolest looking tank I've ever seen.

I brought home the stand and canopy and it's sweet. I cut out the stand for the megaflow overflows and I'll start on the canopy tomorrow. My fish store is out of the 180 gal tanks but has three 210 gal All Glass so I'll probably go with the 210. I am going to cut away at the front wood opening in the canopy so the bottom of the opening is level to the top of the tank. This will give me better access to the inside of the tank. I'm getting excited but my girlfriend thinks I'm nuts. Anyway, here are pictures I took of the stand and canopy. Of course its missing the tank right now.;D $699 a steal!

Looks good. I am very interested to see it setup when you pick a tank.

Mirror walls are so "Guinny" and 80's, LOL. Rip that down please!!!
Nice stand though. I bet no more than 175 lbs of LR (weighed dry) in that tank now, for the contest.
