lol I go to Ace Hardware for that reason. They usually have a better selection of smaller diameter stuff and better employees. I'n the last 5 years Lowes has done some pretty horrible things with payroll policies and are losing good help.

 

While at checkout at Lowe's, waiting on the person in front of us in line....larger guy, an employee at the next register (which was closed?) walks up to me to chat. His hair is slicked back like a greaser/wanna be cool guy (not sure what to call him).

"Did you guys find everything you need today?"

Me: "Yup, just waiting on these people to finish up."

"Oh, cool, man." - He sees the PVC in our cart - "You doing some plumbing?"

Me: "Oh just working on my aquarium"

"Huh?"

Me: "I have an aquarium at home. I am doing plumbing to add in some filtration."

"Oh, man, that's sweet man. What kinda fish you got?"

Me: "It's saltwater. I don't have fish yet. Mainly just coral." I assumed he was about to ask if I had a nemo fish.

"That's cool. Dude, you should totally get some live rock, man. That stuff is sick!"

Me: "Yeah, I have about 25 pounds of it in there. It's been set up for a year."

"You should get some. All kinds o' sweet stuff comes on it!"

Me: "Yeah, I've got some in there. I like to focus on the coral,"..."that's what the plumbing is for. To add some filtration and rebuild my return line from the sump."

...

I think I lost him at that part.

"Cool, man. Have a nice day!"

 

HAHA. Lowes employees these days. Sounds like you had an interesting day. Lol

 

I also talked to a waitress at Bob Evan's, who did ask if I had Nemo and a dori fish, as soon as I mentioned it was saltwater. :

 

Now that is funny lol

 

I just need to get two slip unions for the return lies, then I can install it.

Tomorrow I should have the arm the lights will hang from, mostly done.

 

Note to self: biopellets hurt your foot when you step on them after accidentally dropping them on the floor.

 

Same with shards of egg crate.

 

Yup, I learned that yesterday.
